Charleston falls to Shepherd in NCAA Division II baseball matchup as Devin Fletcher pitches

The Charleston Golden Eagles, featuring former Liberty High School star Devin Fletcher, were defeated 9-6 by the Shepherd Rams at Fairfax Field in an NCAA Division II baseball contest held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.

This game marked the Golden Eagles’ first competition against Shepherd this season.

Fletcher surrendered five earned runs in 3.2 innings, striking out four batters while issuing one walk.

The Golden Eagles are set to play the Shepherd Rams again on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Fairfax Field.
