U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie has announced that his office played a crucial role in securing over $7 million owed to DeSales University through the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). The university had applied for this credit in January 2024 but experienced a delay in receiving updates from the IRS.
After reaching out to Congressman Mackenzie’s office in February 2025, DeSales University received assistance from district staff who contacted the IRS on their behalf. This intervention resulted in a successful resolution of the matter.
Congressman Mackenzie stated, “We’re always very happy when we’re able to solve problems and deliver on behalf of our constituents.” He highlighted the efforts of his team, particularly Rochelle, who facilitated communication with the IRS. “I’m proud of the work that they’re doing for the people of the Greater Lehigh Valley each and every day,” he added.
Carolyn Steigleman, spokeswoman for DeSales University, expressed gratitude for the support provided by Mackenzie’s office. She noted that Rochelle was “very responsive and easy to work with,” which allowed DeSales to improve its budget and cash flow projections.
The congressman’s office continues to offer assistance to constituents navigating federal agencies. More information is available on his website at Mackenzie.House.Gov.
