Congressman Ryan Mackenzie has announced that his office will participate in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, partnering with the Baum School of Art. The competition is open to high school students in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, which includes Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties and part of Monroe County, according to the official website: http://mackenzie.house.gov/.
“Every year, students across Lehigh Valley and the Poconos demonstrate incredible creativity through the Congressional Art Competition,” said Congressman Mackenzie. “This competition is an opportunity for young artists to share their work, represent our community, and receive the recognition they deserve. We encourage all eligible students to participate, and I look forward to seeing the outstanding artwork submitted this year.”
Artwork submissions can be dropped off at the Baum School of Art in Allentown from March 23 to March 28, 2026. The exhibition will run from April 6 to April 17, 2026.
Eligible mediums for submission include paintings (oil, acrylics, watercolor), drawings (colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal), two-dimensional collages, prints (lithographs, silkscreen, block prints), mixed media works using more than two materials such as pencil or ink with watercolor, photographs and computer-generated art.
Teachers and school administrators are encouraged to inform interested students about this opportunity.
