The latest cycle of Good Shepherd Innovation Grants has announced its recipients, recognizing innovative proposals from team members at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and GSPP Rehabilitation. These grants aim to support the generation of new ideas within both inpatient and outpatient settings, fostering advancements in clinical programs and research.
Several projects stood out in this cycle. Under the Learn Grants category, the Cognitive Functional Capacity Evaluation, led by Kelly Troxell and Sarah Sawadski from GSR, was selected. Another project, CrossFit, under the guidance of Samantha Partington and Samantha Weinstein, also received a grant. Additionally, the Hypermobility Clinic led by Alyson Malitsky from GSPP was awarded.
The Create Grants category highlighted more projects. Kimberly Kuchinski and her team from GSR received a grant for the Early Motor Assessment Clinic. At GSPP, the project Quantifying Effort: Developing a Rate of Perceived Cognitive Exertion Scale was recognized, with Monica Coran Kuns and several colleagues leading the initiative. Lastly, Resonant Voices: Gender Affirming Voice Support Group by Alyssa Tarantino at GSPP was also granted funding.
The announcement showcases Good Shepherd’s commitment to fostering an environment where innovation in rehabilitation is encouraged and supported.
