Liberty High alumnus Michael Mariano Jr. appears in NCAA Division II game for Lock Haven

Lock Haven Bald Eagles, featuring former Liberty High School standout Michael Mariano Jr., were defeated 9-0 by the Glenville State Pioneers in NCAA Division II baseball at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.

The contest was held at Sue Morris Sports Complex and marked the teams’ fourth meeting this season. Earlier the same day, the Bald Eagles won 9-4 in their previous matchup against the Pioneers.

Mariano Jr. pitched one inning, surrendering one earned run, walking one hitter, and striking out two.

Lock Haven is set to play next at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Mylan Park against Fairmont State Fighting Falcons.
