Rep. Milou Mackenzie has announced that two educational institutions in Lehigh County will benefit from a total of $150,000 in grant funding. This funding aims to enhance career and technical education opportunities for students.
DeSales University and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute are each set to receive $75,000. These grants are targeted at improving STEM and computer science education and providing professional development. The focus is on equipping students with critical skills that meet the demands of careers in engineering, technology, and health care.
Mackenzie emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Investing in career and technical education is essential to ensuring our students acquire the skills necessary to thrive in the workforce.” She added that the grants will help create more opportunities for hands-on experience and career preparation for students in Lehigh County.
