U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie, who represents Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District including Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon counties and part of Monroe County, recently shared updates on manufacturing in the Lehigh Valley and federal funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through a series of posts on his official X account.

On March 26, 2026, Mackenzie highlighted the region’s industrial legacy and workforce: “Manufacturing is central to the Lehigh Valley’s history—and thanks to our unmatched local workforce, it’s also central to our future. Thank you to @SBA_Kelly for joining us at Lehigh Valley Plastics in Bethlehem Township and Polymer Contours in Allentown for a discussion about https://t.co/qUgGyjFKhC”. This post follows Mackenzie’s ongoing focus on workforce development and economic growth initiatives.

Later that day, Mackenzie addressed congressional efforts regarding DHS employees working without pay: “Earlier today I spoke on the floor of the House in favor of my resolution thanking our DHS employees who have been working without pay because of a lack of bipartisan support for funding in the Senate. It called for full DHS funding legislation that includes important reforms. https://t.co/D6FefbrQAU”.

A day earlier, he posted an update with a link but no additional commentary: “https://t.co/RrsFFgA7Ni” (March 25, 2026).

According to his official website, Mackenzie supports community programs such as art competitions and grant assistance, offers Spanish-language services by appointment at his Downtown Allentown office, and prioritizes issues like healthcare improvements, taxpayer protection, environmental conservation and veteran support (source). During his tenure in Pennsylvania’s state House prior to Congress, he authored legislation aimed at enhancing healthcare systems and government reform (source).
