U.S. Congressman Ryan Mackenzie has recently highlighted several initiatives and events involving seniors and students in his district, according to posts on his official Twitter account.
On September 3, 2025, Mackenzie shared that his team attended a local event focused on senior citizens. He wrote, “My team was able to attend @RepHeffleyPA & @SenatorArgall annual Senior Expo today in Carbon County, which was attended by more than 1,000 seniors! We shared how our office can help seniors with federal services — from Social Security and Medicare to veteran’s benefits and more.”
The following day, September 4, Mackenzie announced the opening of applications for a technology competition aimed at students. He posted, “Applications for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge are open! I am glad to invite students from across our region to participate and showcase the incredible talent we have here in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. Later on September 4, Mackenzie recognized a local business for its work with older adults. He stated, “I recently had the opportunity to recognize Hitcho Insurance Agency for their work helping seniors and Medicare-eligible individuals find the right coverage. Thank you to everyone in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos who work hard to help seniors get the benefits and coverage”.
Congressman Ryan Mackenzie represents Pennsylvania’s 7th congressional district, which includes parts of Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition designed to encourage student engagement in computer science through app development projects.
