Buddhist Meditation on July 28

Lafayette College Pubc Safety recently issued the following announcement.

Buddhist Meditation

when: Wednesday, July 28, 2021 - 5:00pm - 7:30pm

where: Interfaith Chapel & Via Google Meet: meet.google.com/bqc-gpdn-pkj,

price: Free 

All are welcome! Beginners will be given basic instruction in meditation. All that is needed at home is a chair to sit in (dining room or folding card-table type chair preferred). If you have sitting cushions of your own, great! Everyone is encouraged to join for all 3 of our meditation periods, but if you can only join for one or two, that is fine also.

Schedule:

5:30 - 5:40 Orientation for any newcomers

5:40-6:00 Meditation

6:00-6:10 Walking Meditation/Bathroom Break

6:10-6:35 Meditation

6:35-6:39 Adjust posture

6:40-7:00 Meditation & Closing Remarks

Keith Wilson is a Zen Buddhist monk who trains with Kurt Spellmeyer, Kankan Roshi, director and teacher of Cold Mountain Zen based in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Keith has practiced Zen meditation since 2004, ordaining in 2010 as an Unsui (Cloud-Water) monk in the Rinzai tradition of Zen Buddhism. Keith is authorized by Kankan Roshi to lead sitting groups in the Lehigh Valley as part of the Cold Mountain Zen organization. Keith resides in Easton, Pennsylvania and supports himself by working as a Chemical Engineer in the Environmental and Healthcare fields.
