Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) has announced grants totaling $476,000 that have been awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) to benefit residents in the 131st Legislative District. The funds are designated to enhance connectivity across various modes of transportation and improve transportation infrastructure in the area.

"I am extremely pleased to see that the communities of Pennsburg and Green Lane will be receiving the transportation grant money they so richly deserve and so desperately need," expressed Mackenzie. She further added, "I was very happy to offer my support for these projects and am so thrilled the necessary improvements will be made to benefit the residents of the 131st District."

The grants were allocated as follows: Borough of Pennsburg will receive $376,000 for improvements along Eleventh Street, while Green Lane Borough is set to receive $100,000 for the installation of ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps.

The CFA, established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), administers the Commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages. The funding for these projects is being distributed through the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) grant program, aiming to provide financial support for projects that encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system for Commonwealth residents.

This initiative is expected to bring significant enhancements to the transportation infrastructure in the region, ultimately benefiting the communities of Pennsburg and Green Lane.

Rep. Milou Mackenzie represents the 131st Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
