Hearing to highlight unique program for students with emotional disturbance and autism

State Rep. Milou Mackenzie | Pennsylvania 131st Legislative District

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Joshua D. Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton), and other lawmakers will host the first hearing in a series titled “Back to School” to highlight The Centennial School’s unique program for students with emotional disturbance and autism. The school, affiliated with Lehigh University College of Education, prepares high-quality special education teachers to enter the workforce in Pennsylvania.

Participants include Kail, Mackenzie, members of the committee, Joseph Helble, president of Lehigh University, and testifiers Robin Hojnoski, dean of Lehigh University College of Education; Julie Fogt, director of Centennial School; Heather Caricari, lead teacher at Centennial School; Sara C. Heintzelman, technology integration specialist at Centennial School; and parents.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m., located at The Centennial School, 2196 Avenue C, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Barring any technical difficulties, the hearing will be streamed online at PAGOPPolicy.com.
