FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at DeKalb Times have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County, Illinois. The request was sent on September 26, 2024.
Our request seeks detailed information about all payments made to vendors by the county from January 1, 2024, through September 26, 2024. Specifically, we have asked for the following details for each transaction: Vendor Name, Transaction Date, Transaction Description, and Amount.
We believe that access to these records is essential for comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs. As a media organization committed to providing such coverage, we often rely on public records to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
