NATIONAL CANAL MUSEUM: Guided Mt. Pisgah Hike on November 14

Hiking

National Canal Museum recently issued the following announcement

Event: Guided Mt. Pisgah Hike

When: November 14, 2020

Join the D&L for a guided hike up Mt. Pisgah above Jim Thorpe with local historian Vince Hydro. During this moderately strenuous 6 mile hike, we’ll enjoy beautiful autumn views and explore the historical remains of the Mt. Pisgah engine house, the Hacklebernie Tunnel, and the Indian Spring. The hike begins at Mauch Chunk Lake Park and finishes at Sam Miller Field.  At the end of the one-way hike, we’ll shuttle hikers back to the starting point. The hike is limited to ten participants and RSVPs are required. Participants should bring a packed lunch and water. Walking sticks/poles and sturdy footwear are recommended.
