City of Easton issued the following announcement on Sept. 16.
Please meet Easton Police Department Officer Jeff Crosson. As of yesterday, he's the new Circle Officer in downtown Easton. He's been a member of the EPD since 2010 and is a veteran of the Army, which he joined at age 18. He was previously part of the EPD crisis negotiation team, and is currently on the bike unit, is a firearms instructor, and is in charge of the Honor Guard.
Jeff grew up in Phillipsburg, and while he may have been a Stateliner, Easton is his family's home today. "My family and I come downtown all the time. We love it here. There's so much to do and to be a part of," he said.
Jeff volunteered for the Circle Officer position after Officer Vince Bruneo retired recently. "I enjoy community policing and look forward to getting out the car, walking around the community. It's different from a regular patrol job, and that's what I like about it. I'm excited about the positive impact I can have by being focused on the downtown," Jeff explained.
He looks forward to building relationships with downtown business owners and residents, and encourages them to reach out to him directly when they have questions or concerns. So when you see him walking the beat downtown, stopping into our shops, restaurants, and stores, take a moment to say hello and wish him well in his new position!
