Political pollster G. Terry Madonna to speak at Lafayette College Nov. 1

Terry Madonna, senior fellow in residence for political affairs at Millersville University whose political commentary is known across the nation, will discuss the midterm elections at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Marlo Room at Farinon College Center.

Madonna will provide an analysis of the midterm elections, covering national and Pennsylvania politics, with an update on Pennsylvania’s important U.S. Senate open seat and gubernatorial races across the nation. He also will assess President Biden’s standing with voters and how it will affect the midterms, as well as other important issues before the voters.

His talk is being hosted by Lafayette College’s Meyner Center for the Study of State and Local Government at Lafayette College, the Government and Law Department, Landis Center for Community Engagement, and the Kirby Government and Law Society.

“Dr. Madonna has long been a leading pollster and commentator on Pennsylvania politics, and we are happy to have him back on campus to discuss the importance of the upcoming midterms,” says John Kincaid, Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service and director of the Meyner Center. “The last time he spoke at Lafayette, he drew a large and enthusiastic audience.”

For more than 30 years, Madonna, emeritus professor of government at Millersville University, has taught and written about his academic specialties: the American presidency and American political parties and political behavior.

As a pollster in recent years, he has written extensively about voters and voting behavior. He holds a B.S. from Millersville University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political history from University of Delaware.

Madonna founded the Keystone Poll in 1992 at Millersville University, the oldest survey produced exclusively in Pennsylvania, and hosts Pennsylvania Newsmakers, a weekly statewide news and commentary program.
