More than $8 million in funds made possible through the Keystone Communities Program will go toward 51 community projects in 30 Pennsylvania counties, according to a recent announcement by Gov. Tom Wolf.
“The funding provided through the Keystone Communities Program supports towns and cities with initiatives that work to create growth and stability in their neighborhoods while encouraging partnerships between the public and private sectors,” Wolf said. “These projects will build stronger communities, attract new residents and businesses and boost the commonwealth’s economy.”
The Keystone Communities Program is administered through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). Since 2015, there have been $38 million approved for the completion of 247 projects devoted to things like accessible housing, infrastructure improvements and facade grants.
According to the DCED website, the Keystone Communities Program encourages the collaboration and partnerships between members of the private and public sector with a focus on stabilizing the community, promoting social and economic diversity and creating a better quality of life.
