Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Montgomery/Northampton) has announced that the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has awarded over $2.5 million in state funding to benefit residents in Montgomery, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. The funding was approved through the Commonwealth's Small Water and Sewer Program (SWS) and Water Supply, Sanitary Sewer, and Storm Water Projects Program (H2O).

Mackenzie expressed her satisfaction with the funding, stating, "I am pleased our community has been awarded this much-needed funding. This significant investment will enhance and repair critical components of our local infrastructure. This is excellent news for residents of the 131st District and a much-needed investment to keep our water and sewer systems working efficiently for the entire community."

The grant funding has been allocated to various projects across the three counties. The Upper Montgomery Joint Authority has been awarded $423,576 for lateral lining and rehabilitation in East Greensville and Pennsburg, Montgomery County. Salisbury Township in Lehigh County will receive $391,000 for water main replacement in the Meadowbrook area, as well as $660,000 for sanitary sewer improvements and rehabilitation. The City of Bethlehem in Northampton County will receive $750,000 for a 2-million-gallon southwest reservoir replacement at the Bethlehem City reservoir, located in Lower Saucon Township. Additionally, the Lower Saucon Authority has been granted $300,000 for pump station replacement in Lower Saucon Township.

The CFA, which was established in 2004 as an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), is responsible for administering Pennsylvania's economic stimulus packages. The CFA holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in the state's economic growth.
