HARRISBURG - Bethlehem Township will receive more than $4.3 million in funding for the construction of a new storm sewer system, according to Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Northampton). The project, approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST), aims to protect residents' properties from future flooding in the area.

The project will involve the installation of 3,619 feet of new storm sewer with 55 inlets. Additionally, existing culverts on cross streets between Walnut and Turner streets will be replaced. To further enhance the system's functionality, vertical curbing will be installed to capture runoff.

Emrick expressed his satisfaction with the funding, stating, "I'm happy to see this funding for Bethlehem Township. This project will ensure residents' properties are protected from any future flooding in that area."

PENNVEST, which provides low-interest loans and grants for water, stormwater, and sewage treatment facilities, as well as pollution prevention practices, has approved the funding for this important infrastructure improvement.

Residents can look forward to increased protection against flooding in Bethlehem Township with the implementation of this new storm sewer system. The funding received from PENNVEST will play a crucial role in safeguarding the community and its properties.
