State Representative Ann Flood | Pennsylvania 138th Legislative District
State Representative Ann Flood has announced that Northampton County will receive over $4 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grant funding. These grants aim to support various projects focusing on infrastructure, public safety, and community resources in the 138th Legislative District.
"I'm thrilled that these vital resources have been allocated to improve our community. This funding will enhance our infrastructure, public safety and overall quality of life for residents,” said Flood. “I work tirelessly to bring support to the 138th District, and I want to thank everyone who contributed to this effort, including my fellow legislators and local leaders. Together, we are making a meaningful difference for our community."
The approved projects span several townships and boroughs within the county:
- Bushkill Township will receive $500,000 for park improvements, $750,000 for a heavy rescue truck for the Volunteer Fire Company, and $75,760 for a police command vehicle.
- Forks Township is set to use $500,000 for Frutchey Hill Road reconstruction.
- Moore Township has been granted funds for various purchases: $69,775 for a crack sealer machine, $65,000 for two police vehicles, $25,000 for an asphalt roller, $50,000 for an upfitted work truck, and $30,348 for speed enforcement equipment.
- Pen Argyl Borough's projects include a new fire engine at Lookout Fire Company with a budget of $750,000; Weona Park Pool renovation with phase one costing $350,000; and Slate Belt Regional Police radios upgrade at $150,000.
- Roseto Borough will acquire a backhoe worth $100,000.
- Upper Mount Bethel Township plans renovations with its fire company building expansion costing $350,000.
- Washington Township will replace an outdated sign with an LED electronic version costing $40,000.
- Wind Gap Borough is set to renovate Male Road Bridge with allocated funds of $650,000.
These grants were sanctioned by the Commonwealth Financing Authority as part of Pennsylvania’s economic growth initiatives through gaming revenue-derived LSA grants.
