Rep. Zach Mako and Sen. Lisa Boscola have announced that North Catasauqua Borough will receive a $166,000 grant for enhancements to the Delaware and Lehigh (D&L) Trail. The funding was secured through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenway, Trails and Recreation Program, which supports projects related to greenways, trails, open spaces, and parks.
"The Delaware and Lehigh Trail is a treasure," Mako commented. "I enjoy biking on it whenever I have a free moment. This grant will result in 62 miles of continuously connected trail in Northampton and Lehigh counties which will allow for a variety of recreational and transit opportunities."
Boscola added, "The D&L is a tremendous asset to our community and our Commonwealth. Working in a bipartisan fashion to make possible the D&L’s much-needed connection in North Catasauqua will have a significant impact on recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to the Lehigh Valley."
