Rep. Joe Emrick, a Republican from Northampton, has been appointed as the chairman of the House Professional Licensure Committee for the 2025-26 Legislative Session. Emrick emphasized the importance of proper licensing for professionals in Pennsylvania, stating, "Pennsylvania is home to a wide range of occupations who may require a license to operate in their official capacity." He highlighted that ensuring professionals are licensed protects consumers and supports businesses, health organizations, and the public.

Emrick expressed his gratitude for the leadership role within the state House of Representatives. "It is an honor to serve in a leadership role within the state House of Representatives," he said. He acknowledged that serving as a committee chair is crucial for effective governance and looks forward to collaborating with committee members across the Commonwealth to provide quality legislation and results for Pennsylvanians.

In the previous session, Emrick held the position of Republican chairman of the House Commerce Committee.
