Rep. Joe Emrick from Northampton shared his thoughts following the passage of the 2021-22 Pennsylvania state budget. Emrick emphasized the budget's fiscal responsibility, noting it does not increase taxes or fees for families.

"Tonight, we passed a fiscally responsible state budget that neither raises taxes or fees on hardworking families," said Emrick. The budget allocates $2.5 billion to the state's Rainy Day Fund and includes significant investments in various sectors.

Emrick highlighted record funding levels for preK-12 education and increased contributions to nursing homes and infrastructure. He also mentioned preparations for the future of the Commonwealth as part of the financial plan.

The representative from Pennsylvania's 137th District conveyed his support for these measures as beneficial steps forward for the state's residents.
