Rep. Joe Emrick announced that the Upper Nazareth Fire Department has been awarded a $1.25 million grant for its building expansion project. The funding will support the construction of a four-bay garage for station vehicles and a complete second floor.

"The Upper Nazareth Fire Department does so much to serve our local community and keep people safe. This funding is crucial in allowing our volunteer firefighters to provide the services we so deeply rely upon," said Emrick.

Fire Chief Jeff Fassl expressed gratitude for the grant, acknowledging Rep. Emrick's role in securing it. "We are incredibly grateful for this grant funding, and we appreciate Rep. Emrick’s extensive work in helping to secure it. Over the past decade, our population has increased more than 30% and this money will be vital in allowing our department to grow and continue serving the residents of Upper Nazareth Township," said Fassl.

The state Department of Community and Economic Development funded this project.
