Rep. Joe Emrick has announced a significant financial boost for Bethlehem Township, with over $4.3 million allocated for the construction of a new storm sewer system. The project involves installing 3,619 feet of storm sewer, including 55 inlets and replacing existing culverts on cross streets between Walnut and Turner streets. Additionally, vertical curbing will be added to aid in runoff capture.

Emrick expressed satisfaction with the funding approval, stating, "I’m happy to see this funding for Bethlehem Township. This project will ensure residents’ properties are protected from any future flooding in that area."

The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) approved the funding. PENNVEST is known for providing low-interest loans and grants aimed at constructing or improving publicly or privately-owned water-related facilities and implementing non-point source pollution prevention practices.
