Rep. Milou Mackenzie has announced the allocation of nearly $1 million in grant funding for projects within the 131st District. The funds, sourced from the Public School Facilities Improvement Grant Program and Local Share Account (LSA), will support various initiatives aimed at enhancing community infrastructure.

Mackenzie expressed gratitude for the financial support, stating, "I am extremely grateful that nearly one million dollars in state funding will soon be coming into the 131st District for a variety of projects. The much-needed improvements will greatly enhance the lives of our residents and give relief to our local governments."

The Public School Facilities Improvement Program allocated $484,818 to Salisbury Township School District for a safety upgrade project at Salisbury Township Middle School in Lehigh County.

Under the Local Share Account Statewide initiative, several projects received funding:

- Coopersburg Municipal Authority was awarded $144,548 to purchase a backhoe.

- Lower Saucon Township received $125,000 to install permanent restroom facilities at their trailhead.

- Marlborough Township was granted $77,284 to restore a nineteenth-century barn at Finland Road Park used for public works equipment storage.

- Upper Hanover Township secured $37,500 to study the sewer management system at Perkiomen Heights.

- Upper Montgomery Joint Authority obtained $124,004 for pump station repairs and manhole rehabilitation across Upper Hanover Township.

The Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program supports eligible facility improvement projects within public school districts and technical schools. The LSA funds derive from state gaming revenues as established by Pennsylvania's Race Horse Development and Gaming Act of 2004. These grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority board in Harrisburg.
