Rep. Zach Mako has announced the allocation of over $1.2 million in Local Share Account grants from gaming revenues to projects in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) is responsible for distributing these funds as outlined by Act 71 of 2004, which supports public interest projects across the state.
East Allen and Moore townships have been awarded $266,573 to purchase an asphalt paver and trailer. This equipment will enable both municipalities to repair roads more efficiently, reducing vehicle wear and tear.
Lehigh Township received a grant of $1 million to aid in constructing a new public works facility. The existing structure is over 60 years old and no longer meets current needs. The new facility aims to accommodate the requirements of the staff and equipment effectively.
"Both of these grants will fund key projects that will benefit area residents for years to come," stated Rep. Mako. He emphasized the importance of timely road repairs and modern infrastructure for community service.
The 183rd House District represented by Mako includes several townships and boroughs in Lehigh County and Northampton County.
